Overview
The Patient Simulator Designed To Meet
Your Training Needs.
An upgraded version of our popular
DataSim 6000 model, the DataSim 6100
offers six channels for generating ECG
arrhythmias, blood pressure, and
respiration. New features include a
standard defib training capability,
along with a battery that’s now built
right into the unit itself. All control
keys and display prompts can be found on
DataSim’s convenient, hand-held keypad,
which is connected to the unit with a
flexible, 20’ telephone-style cord that
gives you exceptional range of motion.
Critical Care Nurses, ACLS program
instructors, and other clinical
educators can use DataSim 6100 to
generate an extensive range of
simulations, from a simple normal sinus
rhythm to a complex Swan-Ganz catheter
insertion. In any of the following
training situations, this instrument
proves a useful, comprehensive tool.
ACLS Testing and DEFIB Training
By interfacing the DataSim 6100 to an
Arrhythmia AnneÔ , Resusci-AnneÔ , or
Chris CleanÔ chest torso, you can teach
students the correct way to defibrillate
a patient, plus the desired effect on
ECG and BP activity. When you’re ready
to begin this training scenario, DataSim
automatically inserts a DEFIB artifact.
If the student properly defibrillates,
the artifact is followed by the
instructor’s preselected rhythm
representing patient recovery. DataSim
also enables you to teach DEFIB paddle
monitoring by simulating ECG activity
via the manikin connection.
BP and Arrhythmia Recognition
Challenge your students with the most
realistic pressure and arrhythmia
simulations available. Because DataSim’s
hemodynamic waveforms are
physiologically synchronized, students
learn to identify the blood pressures
and arrhythmias they’ll see on the job
every day. To provide even more
comprehensive training, you can also
generate potentially complex simulations
with ease, including a Swan-Ganz
catheter insertion and manual PAC and
PVC insertions.
Artifact Recognition
The DataSim 6100 gives you an ideal way
to help students differentiate artifact
from physiologically meaningful
waveforms. Using the DataSim’s ARTIFACT
key, you can select a wide range of
"real world" ECG, Pressure, and
Respiration artifacts. Simulations
include:
» ECG Artifact:
- Somatic Muscle (5 levels)
- 60 Cycle (3 levels)
- Baseline (3 levels)
- Defibrillation, CPR
» Pressure Artifact:
- Respiration
- Catheter Whip
- Resonance
- Damping
» Respiration Artifact:
- ECG Coincidence
Expanding Your Waveform Selections
An extensive range of optional
personality modules is available to
expand the DataSim 6100’s waveform
selections. Each personality module
plugs into the unit’s front panel and
features a variety of specialty
waveforms and waveform sequences.
These include:
» Intra-Aortic Balloon Assist
» Pediatric ECG
» Intra-Cranial Pressures
» Advanced Pacemaker
» MCL1 Atrials
» MCL1 Blocks
» MCL1 Ectopy/Aberrancy
» Normal/Diseased Left Heart
» 12-Lead ECG (Normal/Infarct)
» ST Segments
» Cardiac Output
» Capnography (CO2)
» Interactive IABP
Special Features For Specialized
Needs
DataSim 6100 meets the challenge of your
specialized training applications using
personality modules for the following
scenarios:
» Interactive IABP
- To help students practice setting
inflation/deflation timings, DataSim
6100 can be interfaced with all Kontron,
Datascope, and Aries balloon pumps.
DataSim responds to the inflation/
deflation timing of the balloon pump by
changing the timing and shape of
augmented arterial pressures.
» Cardiac Output
- Simulate normal and abnormal
thermal dilution curves by connecting
the DataSim 6100 to any cardiac output
computer which accepts the Edwards 3-pin
catheters.
» PALS Training
- An optional Pediatric ECG
personality module can be used with the
DEFIB training feature during Pediatric
(PALS) training workshops.
The Video Adapter Training Accessory
Makes Your Training More Effective Than
Ever
Our Video Adapter lets you display ECG
and BP waveforms generated by DataSim on
any standard TV set. The enlarged
display format increases both the
visibility and comfort level of your
class, while the unit itself offers a
variety of instructional tools designed
to assist you.
