Overview

One-touch test selection. Three test loads and many test standards to choose from.
The model 601 Pro SeriesXL is the most advanced electrical safety analyzer for the International market. The unique features of this instrument will increase your productivity and diversify your business to include laboratory equipment. The one-touch testing user interface is an industry exclusive that allows the user to perform rapid tests on various medical devices without having to manoeuvre around cumbersome menus. The 601 Pro SeriesXL is the only instrument that combines the EN 60601-1, EN 601010-1, and AAMI ES1 standard test loads into one device.

Operational Description:
Voltage (Single and Dual Lead): Use this mode of operation to troubleshoot electrical systems or as a digital volt meter to verify the proper installation of power systems. While in the IEC 1010 standard, a modified version of the dual-lead measurement is performed with all measurements referenced to earth and the red lead used as a probe. The outlet powering the 601 Pro SeriesXL is analyzed on start up and error messages are displayed to notify the user what the status is of the outlet power.

Insulation Resistance: Select between mains or applied part insulation resistance testing. 500 VDC is applied for a minimum of 5 seconds in auto mode and a maximum of 1 minute in step and manual mode. Measured values are displayed in megOhms.

Protective Earth Continuity: Test current can be selected by the user or selected automatically by the assigned test standard. Choose between 1, 10 or 25 amps to comply with the Second Amendment of the IEC-601. Measured values are displayed in milliOhms along with the actual current applied.

Earth and Enclosure Leakage: No additional connections are required when the Earth Leakage test is selected, the 601 Pro SeriesXL automatically inserts the measuring device into the circuit. The user can then perform single fault conditions. Enclosure leakage tests can be performed with or without the applied parts grounded. Measured values are displayed in RMS only.

Patient Leakage/Mains on Applied Part: Select between 0, 1, 2, 3, or 5 (all) applied parts. All applied part selections are made by the user or by the device information record when called up. Leakage measurements are displayed in RMS or DC microamps. Mains on applied part generates a signal that is at least 110% of incoming mains power and applies it to the selected applied part. The signal is applied with normal and reversed polarity.

Modes of Operation:
Auto: Utilize the standard specific autosequences by selecting the auto mode. If the user enters a control number that is resident in the memory, the 601 Pro SeriesXL will initiate a test based on the settings associated with that stored control number. Failure to enter a control number will result in the test progressing but no data will be stored in memory. All tests are compared to a preset table of limits and pass/fails are applied.

Step: This mode will progress through an auto-sequence but requires user interaction to move from test to test.

Manual: This mode allows for the most flexible testing sequence. The user can decide to perform or skip any test available in a particular standard. No data is stored but limits do apply in this mode for printing purposes.
